After the success of the World 9s, I realised that this format would also be very popular with the Masters footy community i.e. players aged 35 and over.
As a result, the AFI Masters 9s was created and it is now an annual event.
Teams that have participated in the Masters 9s include Ascot Vale Panthers, Melton Panthers, Port Colts, Brunswick Mudlarks, Diamond Valley Magpies, Marcellin Bald Eagles, Beaconsfield Superules, Parkdale Vultures, Cranbourne Eagles, Blackburn, Northside Lions, Mooroolbark Mustangs and Box Hill North.
